Differences/Similarities Between PCOS & PCOD:
In both PCOS & PCOD, similar early signs can be seen which are irregular/delayed periods, skin pigmentation and acne, unexplained increase in weight especially in the abdomen, hair loss, and hirsutism.
Both PCOS & PCOD block the normal function of the ovary which is ovulation leading to menstruation.
The severe consequences of both these medical disorders is infertility or inability to conceive.
Both of these conditions cannot be treated with modern medicine or allopathy/homeopathy.
To reverse PCOS & PCOD permanently only ayurvedic treatment gives the best results, as it treats the root cause of the condition.

Here are some symptoms of PCOS that you can notice:

  • Irregular periods or no periods at all
  • Excessive pain during periods accompanied with heavy flow
  • Excess male hormones or androgen that can cause hirsutism i.e. growth of hair on the face, back, chest or butt
  • Oily skin and breakouts like acne
  • Thinning of hair or hair loss resulting in male pattern baldness
  • Excessive weight gain
  • Difficulty in conceiving
  • Pain in the pelvic area
  • Anxiety and depression

Polycystic ovary syndrome is diagnosed by the presence of at least two out of the following:

signs or symptoms of high androgens (unwanted facial or bodily hair, loss of hair from the head, acne or an elevated blood level of testosterone) – after other causes for this have been excluded;
irregular or absent menstrual periods – after other causes for this have been excluded; and
polycystic ovaries on an ultrasound scan
